It’s Time For You To Take Up Space! 💕

Last weekend, I met up with a few young women I have come to love and respect. We touched on quite a number of things but one thing that stuck for me was “Impostor Syndrome”.

What’s that? Well, Impostor syndrome (also known as fraud syndrome) is a psychological pattern in which one (consciously or unconsciously) doubts one’s accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a “fraud”.

One of the ladies beautifully coined it, “Waiting for The Other Shoe To Drop!”

A fav, Sheryl Sandberg in her book Lean In (a must-read btw) tags it, “the phenomenon of capable people being plagued by self-doubt”.

Are you like me? Constantly waiting for the world to see that you “mistakenly fell into this job” or “you’re not as fantastic as people think?”

Well like another fav, AOC in the video below, you can try taking up more space with actions and positive affirmations (don’t worry this isn’t some aspire to perspire BS! It actually works!).

And like another one of the ladies said on Saturday, “… Hype Yourself!

You’re all that!

You’re that B***H!

Constantly remind yourself and take up as much space as you need!

Bask in your own glory!
