Love or Selflessness…

The thought without thought

The only thing that takes all you’ve got

I thought I knew what love is

I thought I had it all figured out

till I got into this

and realised that I’ve been on the wrong route

How do you do this?

How do you put me first?

How do you let me exist?

How do you pass every test?

I might have thought I was ready for this.

I might have thought I knew what it takes

but you’ve shocked me and checked off every item on the list

You’re fulfilling every promise, to each other, we might ever make

So thank you for yesterday,

Thank you for all the things you do and say

Thank you for now, tomorrow and every other day.
